If you’re using Windows Live Messenger, then this is what you need to do.

1. Open Windows Live Messenger and click on My Webcam.

2. Click the "File" menu, select "Preferences," and choose "Webcam".

3. Click the "Camera Settings" button.

4. Uncheck the box that says “Invert Image" or "Mirror Vertical”.

But you’ve also stated that this issue happens even when you take photos. I would better suggest you to update your webcam driver software. To do so, follow the steps below.

1. Click on Start; in the Start search type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.

2. Go to Imaging Devices and expand it.

3. Right click your webcam component and click on update driver.

4. Browse to download the driver.

5. Install it.

6. Close the device manager.

Now check it if works.

Hold the laptop upside-down or rip the camera out and flip it around and duct tape it.
