Dale Tallon going after Steven Stamkos?

I heard in Sunrise, Florida that Dale Tallon will be going after Steven Stamkos?

Mike Santos Assistant Manager of Florida Panthers said "we havent added any star talent but we will be looking to get that soon"

Can they get Stamkos?

Update:

Flyers GM said they are not going after Stamkos - http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/feed/2011-06/nhl-f...

Are there any other teams in the running for Stamkos?

Update 2:

If someone offers you crazy amount of money to play for a team that's optimistic about its future, Just a few hours away from your previous team, with perfect gorgeous weather, beaches, where you can practically go to practice in your shorts and flip flops, wouldn't you take the deal?

In my opinion one of the issues that most teams have with signing Stamkos is that the current CBA is going to expire on September 15, 2012 so as alot of teams want him and have the current cap space to sign him they are hesitant to do so due to the speculation that the salary cap will be lowered in the new CBA but that is just my opinion on the matter.

Well, the panthers only have 1 more spot left and still can spend 14m before reaching the cap limit. The lightning are closer to winning a cup, but for how long, Stamkos is young while most of tampa's stars are older and well into their 30's. It would be a great pick-up since the panthers have already acquired 10 solid players this free agency and just recently signed Mike Santorelli.

I say that Stamkos would be better off with the lightning now but if he were to sign with the cats he can be a part of a championship contending team that Dale Tallon is creating down in South Florida.

  • Hurrikane- Colorado cannot tender an offer sheet- they don't own their own first round draft pick for 2012 (they have to have their own first round draft pick and they don't, so they're out).

Tampa still controls his rights. That's the nature of a Restricted Free Agent.

A team (and on day 8 of free agency none of the 29 other NHL teams have done this) can tender an offer sheet for Stamkos. Tampa has 7 days to match the offer. If they do, that becomes Stamkos' contract and he plays for Tampa. Or they can decline to match the offer and the player signs with the team that tendered the offer sheet (and they would pick up compensatory draft picks tied to the amount of the contract- anything tendered would most likely be the highest level which means that the team tendering the offer sheet must have their OWN first round draft picks).

As much as Dale Tallon has made his club a "serious" playoff contender for this upcoming season, i don't think Tallon would destroy the whole team he has built this off-season just to land his negotiating rights.... after all, I don't think Stamkos would sign in another small hockey market (Tampa Bay, Florida)

The Colorado Avalanche are getting an offer set up for Stamkos. It'd cost them their 2013-2016 picks, but they'd make the playoffs every year

hi woman you're searching good on your Tee blouse. yet when Jay is going to assist the crew a commerce of this %. ought to do more beneficial than choosing Stevie Boy. he's no longer a Vinny neither is he a Tavares. There are some good D adult males accessible in this draft and the first for a prospect and a third or fourth %. ought to help more beneficial. even possibly sucking Toronto in for Stralman and their seventh. The Maple Leaf faithless ought to guage that in a heartbeat.
