what makes a car not want to shift cold ?

there's a car i'm looking into buying but the guy said it doesn't shift into gear when cold but when it warms up its fine ?

    weak pump clog screen an bad transmison an will onley get worse so by cheep enough to replace trans if realy like car

    It may need more trans fluid, But no mater what's wrong, it may coust you a few thousand $$$$ to repair later on after you buy it. Find another car.

    The trans is filled with crap, and the trans fluid is probably not oem.
