How to make nail polish stay on your nails?

For some reason no matter what I do I can't get my nail polish to stay on my nails. It usually turns goopy and smudges or peals right off. It does these things once it dries. I buff my nails before I apply the polish. I've put a bottom coat before applying. Sometimes I don't & I get the same results. And I make sure the polish is 100% dry before applying another coat. I use two coats & then one coat of the top coat. I've tried many different brands (of the brands OPI is the one that didn't really do this). It doesn't do this with my toes. And the polish (only with my fingernails) gets bubbly. Help?

You need something like Sec`n Dry . It penetrates all layers of nail polish and dries it from the inside out in minutes creating an extra hard protective finish. There are others you can try as well but a fast drying top coat is what you need to keep your nail polish looking fresh.

wipe off the brush part of the applicator before you apply it to your nails. make sure it is not clumpy and goopy. it may be that the nail polish is old and is starting to harden together or that the brand is not good. I use Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color. This brand is very good and the price is reasonable. I reccomend that you use that brand. After you are done it may help to apply a hardening coat/top coat. Make sure the polish is not more that about a year old.

Don't buff your nails, you're making your nails smooth and making it harder for the nail varnish stick to your nail. Clean the nail with nail varnish remover first, then a thin base coat, two thin coats of your polish and thin top coat. Make sure the polish you use is still new and not got air in it.

If its bubbly usually you are putting too much on. Try doing your base coat and then put on some polish, then wait ten minutes. Put another coat on and finish it by putting some of the base coat on top. At the top of the nail, do it hotizontially, i read somewhere that helps prevent chipping. Good luck!! Oh and i use Sally Hanson and it works really well.

Try doing one coat. Wait an hour. Then the next. Wait an hour, and so on. Just to make sure it's COMPLETELY dry. You could probably wait only 30 mins if you have one of those fans that is specifically for drying nails.

dats because our feets dont work as our fingers do....we tend to use more of our fingers,....there are some solutions from my side....

    > check if the nail polish has thickened

    > if the nail polish has thickened add some nail polish remover or acetone to the nail polish bottle and twist it between your palms. dont shake it up and down....it may cause bubbles

    > after your nail polish has dried completely, dip your fingers in some chilled water. probably the icy cold ones...

    hope it helps

nail polish is going to chip... its a fact of life unfortunately. :( :( make sure before you apply that you put on a base coat.(base coat prevents stains on the nails etc etc) and then after you paint your nails the colour of your choice make sure to apply a cover coat....
