Jobseekers and working question?

Hi, keeping things short. Basically I've recently gotten a Sunday job in retail but had to do extra hours to cover this week because my boss is away on holiday. I also claim jobseekers while I'm searching for a job with more hours. For this week only I have done over 16 hours but any other week its my usual times. Will I lose my Jobseekers for just covering this one week?

You are meant to tell them if you take on extra hours that exceed 16 hours per week - but if this is a one off I wouldn't bother. Its too much hassle. They won't know.

You should let your job centre know as soon as possible. Delay could get you into trouble for failing to inform them. You will probably have to sign on and re-register, which means you will lose jobseekers' allowance for the days you were working in that week, as well as for about 3 days at the start of the new claim, but you are very unlikely to lose it altogether. As you may be aware, benefit weeks are calculated from the day the benefit began and so may not be the same as calendar weeks.
