old fashioned sweets?
years ago there was a candy in the shape of a stick of rock but it was twirled, light brown in colour and had chocolate running through the middle. Can anyone remember the name. I have looked it many old fashioned sweet shops but have not yet seen any.
You could also get it in barley sugar, this was also in the same shape, long and twisted the same texture as rock, Not on a stick, it was packaged the same as rock.
The barley sugar one was called barley sugar twist.

Gosh. That brings back memories. So long ago. I'm almost sure they were just called barley sugar and choco sticks.

I remember a candy called the Tootsie Roll but it was round on a stick like a lollipop.

sounds like a variation on the old humbugs, there was all sorts some with chocolate, liquorice, sherbert...
could also be some type of eclair maybe, there's a caramel candy type that has chocolate in the middle but I don't remember seeing any that looked like rock.
