Movies: What's your favorite Tom Hanks movie?

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to see 'Philadelphia' for about the fifth time with family and friends.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107818/

..Had a great time, enjoyed the movie. It got me to think, there are so many Tom Hanks movies that I have seen several times. My favorite is still be Forrest Gump. What's yours?

BQ: Do you have a particular actor/actress whose movies you most enjoy?

Update:

Does anybody still remember his first regular TV series.."Bossom Budies"? Who knew back then?

Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors. His best films, in my opinion, are "Cast Away" and "Forrest Gump" - he gave an amazing performance in these films. I have just seen his new film "Larry Crowne" with Julia Roberts last night. Very disappointing! Have you seen it?

  • Hey Harvey,

I have two favourite Tom Hanks movies, The Green Mile (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120689/) and Catch Me If You Can (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264464/). The Green Mile is a powerful film, a great drama and I think everyone should see it before they die. Catch Me If You Can is just a fun action movie that wins on entertainment level. Still need to see Forrest Gump though.

BA: Christian Bale and Edward Norton, I love their movies and performances.

    Well,

I'm sure everybody has seen his spectacular acting ability in Forrest Gump and that is just one of my favorite Tom Hanks film. Unfortunately, when you have a new favorite actor, past favorite actor or a good actor in general, it is hard to differentiate and choose between all of their movies and pick one as their best in your own opinion (or at least for me).

I really enjoyed his talents in the Disney Pixar series Toy Story (if that counts) as the voice actor for Woody (the cowboy).

I also liked him in one of his least favorite films (or so I am guessing since most people don't mention it more often), Lost in Translation, also starring Scarlett Johansson. It is a great film for those who just want to sit around, eat popcorn and enjoy amulticulturall flick with good humor and realistic depth.

I also agree with you on Philadelphia 100%
