ODLH confirms Pacquiao camp agrees...?

to blood testing on his Twitter...He writes "Good news: Arum agrees to blood testing". This is great news, because to me, the one "supposed" major hurdle in making this fight happen was blood testing. Now that it's been agreed to, are there any other hurdles that can stop this fight from happening? Does this indicate that negotiations have ALREADY begun for the Pacquiao Mayweather fight? If the fight doesn't happen after the Marquez, Ortiz fight, who would you hold responsible?

http://twitter.com/#!/oscardelahoya

Update:

One more thing...Does this give you hope that we can expect Top Rank - Golden Boy fights in the future? That would be great for boxing!

Update 2:

One more thing...Does this give you hope that we can expect Top Rank - Golden Boy fights in the future? That would be great for boxing!

Update 3:

Red Boy - nobody said Arun agreed to "Mayweather's terms". ODLH said he agreed to random blood testing. Two different things. Let's hope that Mayweather doesn't NOW say, it has to be conducted by USADA. Why does the drug testing protocal have to be on "Mayweather's terms" anyway? If they've agreed to the same protocal, only by a different governing body, then I'd love to see how Money would justify him not taking the fight because it's not "on his terms". If that happens, I'd love to see who can justify Mayweather not taking the fight.

Update 4:

And how do you KNOW they're not negotiating NOW? Mayweather's been very vocal about fighting Pacquiao lately...it could be happening behind the scenes without anyone really knowing.

Update 5:

Red Boy - I think we're on the same page...I'm just saying, how can Money expect everything to be done HIS way? Of course he can say, it's my way or the highway, but the point of negotiating is COMPROMISE. And to me, that's what Team Pac is doing. If you remember, Team Pacquiao's original terms are..whatever the standard drug testing protocals are already in place. They are negotiating and bending to find MIDDLE GROUND, i.e. agreeing to random blood testing, just not by USADA. Money is holding firm and not budging one bit. How would fans continue to defend those demands?

Update 6:

The point of negotiating is finding common ground with "give and take" that BOTH parties can live with. If Team Pac agrees to random blood testing by another sanctioning body, then it's not "his terms". His terms are standard drug testing protocal. They've given into the random blood testing, so I'm not sure how you can say, it's HIS terms, when they didn't want it in the first place. Remember negotiating is about finding a middle ground. Random drug testing by another body is middle ground. Will Money also give some in order to take some? Or would he hold firm to HIS way (Random drug testing all the way up to the fight BY USADA)? As I mentioned, Team Pacquiao didn't agree to Money's terms, they agreed to random blood testing which was a major obstacle in the previous negotiations. I understand Money's terms are Money's terms and he has the right to refuse, but at the same time, it "seems" to me that Team Pacquiao is trying to find middle ground while Money is not.

Update 7:

Red Boy - I agree with that. It would easier to agree completely. The only problem is the huge ego's involved. Pacquiao isn't Mosley and he's not Ortiz. He's the other cash cow of boxing, so he does have leverage. Not only would he make the biggest payday of his life against Money, but Money would ALSO make the biggest payday of his life against Pacquiao. When both parties have that kind of leverage, it's hard for one side to agree completely with the other.

Bob Arum agreed, and how can he agree to Mayweather's terms if they aren't even negotiating? Mayweather is fighting Ortiz now not Pacquiao. Even if they were, is he agreeing to Mayweather's terms but only under his own terms that drug testing shouldn't be by USADA?

I don't really care what Bob Arum has to say, when the fight happens, then I'll believe it.

@nepster, Actually the same thing because Bob Arum had already said that. De La Hoya is just confirming it. We can hope all we want but if Mayweather wants it done by USADA then it's by USADA. You can't agree to the demands of someone else and then try to change their demands. That's not agreeing. The drug testing was Mayweather's demand so if he wants it on his terms then it's on his terms. Why does everything have to be under Bob Arum's terms. "we agree to blood testing but with a 21 day cut off. We agree, but to a 14 day cut off. We agree, but it can't be by USADA."

If they are negotiating then they are, it's not agreeing to someone else's terms if you want it to be your way.

I'm just saying, Bob Arum is always about Bob Arum not boxing or this fight. And also I think the best way to get the fight done is just to agree instead of finding Middle Ground. Nothing wrong with compromise because that's what I would do but I think it would go a lot easier if they just agree. Mosley did, Ortiz is as well, why is it so hard for Bob Arum? Bob Arum doesn't like Mayweather, doesn't like doing business with him.

There is still a catch on this Nepster, the test should be done not by USDA. Floyd Jr. can still find a way out. He might claim that his demand wasn't really accepted, you know what it is. I hope this link is of some significant. http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/326122/pacquiao-okay... I posted a similar question one or two days ago and one answer that I received was it wasn't fully accepted, that it got to be Floyd Mayweather Jr's way and USDA is his way. It would be hilarious if he decline this. It prove only one thing and only one, he is scared of Manny. I promised before that I won't use the word ducking unless he fought somebody else other than Manny and I have the liberty to use it now, and the word scared will likewise be on hold until he refuse the kind of test that Manny accepted. I don't believed that he is really scared and no such fighter is scared to fight and I hope he won't give me a chance to use it.

Manny Pacquiao started to show his intention to fight Floyd Jr. like what he saying before and he have given too much in terms of leeway. I am sure that he got a point of not accepting USDA and there's more available accredited institutions who can do the random test. It is a matter of trusting one company over the other. I hope the Mayweather's take this into consideration. Time for Floyd Jr to fight Manny or make another alibi and give us something to disappoint again.

Both TR and GBP were really trying to work hand and hand for the sake of boxing and I hope it stays that way and not just temporary.

    Hi there Mr. Nepomuceno!

It may bring a lil hope for us fans somehow that they can now give us what we want to see not necessarily just the Pac-May fight but good fights as a whole. With regards to the Pac-May fight, I am crossing my fingers. Arum is a self confessed liar and do business very smart. I guess there is a catch for all of him being cooperative. Let see as early as next year, hope the Megafight will finally happen, not just to happen but would live to the hype it created!

Nepster that is indeed good news. But my God, there is so much time in between. What will happen next.Don't want to get my gander all up only to be floored in the middle of negotiations.

Hope Floyd and team will do they're part as well.It does give some form of hope. But im working on my blood pressure so i will reserve my excitement until it happens.

Damn, how about this. They both skip Marquez and Ortiz altogether. I hope this is real now. Oscar had failed us before when he prematurely said that the fight is as good as done.

it sucks that it comes down to the promoter's hands

but i hope this fight happens

    Offense vs Defense

if Floyd wins it will be by K.O. (quick counter puncher, better defense, more experience and against better opponents)

if Pacquiao wins it will be by Unanimous Decision (throws a whole lot of punches and lands a lot of them)
