Which is more impressive, 3000 hits or a .325 lifetime batting average?

There are currently 27 players on each list.

Both are impressive, but batting .325 is something not many players can do. If you are a .250 hitter, and you play for a long time, you could probably accomplish 3000 hits. Whereas, you need to be very good to be able to hit .325 over your entire career.

3000 hits. .325 average can be done in a 5 year span, but you need to play a long time, and do well in each year, to get to 3000 hits.

Both are good. To me, the .325 lifetime average is more impressive because people can't claim longevity.

3000 hits is more impressive because you have to play 20 years or more. You only need

to play 5 years for most stats to be considered lifetime.
