"Shooting an Elephant" by George Orwell?

I am answering some questions about this short essay and I can not seem to figure out the answer to this question. What were relations like between the Burmese and Europeans? Why were they so difficult? I know that they Europeans did like the Burmese and did not see them as humans but thats all I can think to write. I have to write a paragraph. Any help is appreciated!

Look at how the narrator describes his job and how he thinks the natives would describe his work. It's been a while since I read the piece, but it seems to me, that Orwell gave you quite a bit about how he imagined the Burmese, how Europeans treated them, etc. So far you have two possible answers. The Europeans didn't like the Burmese and the Europeans did not see the Burmese as fully human. You could also look at how the Burmese felt about the Europeans. Once you have a statement like those, ask yourself why you think the statement is true? For example, how do you know the Europeans didn't like the natives? Did the narrator say something? Do something? Say what the something was and then quote a little bit that shows the something.
