Frustrated trying to find a church?

I just moved to a new city and have wasted the last month waiting for Sunday to come to visit a different church and be disappointed. I look up the websites of the churches but they have been misleading. For example some say contemporary music but that incorporates a lot of different types of music including a lot I don't like and worship music is huge to me. Also some websites say they welcome all ages and ethnicities but they should just be honest that their church is predominately a majority of a certain age or race because I have been both the only one my age and the only one of my race. I need to have a church in my life and I don't know what to do and I don't know anyone in this city! Ahhhhh!

Update:

My question is how do I find a church?

Anyone can find a church. But here's a worthy challenge: Finding the true religion.

Some claim that all religions are simply just different roads leading to God.

But consider: God is either a Trinity or He is not. God either only has one personal name or He does not. God either punishes people in an everlasting fire and torment or He lovingly does not. Different religions have FUNDAMENTAL differences between them. They cannot all be correct.

So it is reasonable for the Bible to conclude that there is “one Lord, ONE FAITH, one baptism.” (Ephesians 4:4, 5) Logically then, there is only one way to fundamentally worship the "only true God". (John 17:3)

Through extensive investigation in the search for finding the one Source of Divine Truth, many have concluded what the Bible says about itself:

"All Scripture is *inspired of God* and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness." (2 Tim. 3:16)

Therefore, for one to find the "right religion", one needs to look for the one religion ("one faith") that accurately follows the principles and teachings of the Bible the closest.

In my quest for the one religion ("one faith") that follows the Bible the closest, I have found that Jehovah's Witnesses base all of their beliefs, their standards for conduct, and organizational procedures on the Bible. I believe that out of all of the religions that exist today, their understanding of the Bible is the most accurate in all of the essential Scriptural truths.

a church home is VERY important! Absolutely! so-

give God charge of your search!

relax and listen to the Holy Spirit guide you thru all the choices

maybe He has different plans and wants to open your eyes to something new

(not saying this is the case- but could be why all your criteria aren't being met)

remember- the most important things are-

fellowship with others, opportunities for service and growth in Him right?

He'll get you there! He knows you need a home!

  • If you would like to identify which religion is the one that is actualy doing things as the Bible says, you have to use the Bible to identify it.

The Bible can help you to identify it.

    ----------------------------

    High Moral Standards

Marriage - Hebrews 13:4 - Does this religion require that among its members, couples who live together be legally married?

Divorce - Matthew 19:9 - Does this religion respect Jesus' direction and allow divorce and remarriage - but only on the grounds of immorality?

Sexual morality - 1 Corinthians 6:18; Romans 1:26-27 - Does this religion teach that sexual immorality either between a man and a woman or between a couple of the same sex is a sin?

Courageously upholding Bible standards among it's members - 1 Corinthians 5:11, 13 - Does this religion remove from its membership roll any who unrepentantly ignore Bible standards?

    Brotherly Love

War - Mattew 5:44; 26:52; 1 John 3:10-12 - Does this religion encourage its members to participate in warfare?

Politics - Jonh 6:15; 18:36; 17:14 - Does this religion follow Jesus' example and avoid becoming involved in politics, even if that means that its members will be hated by some politicians?

Prejudice - Acts 10:34-35; James 2:1-4 - Does this religion teach that all people are equal in God's sight and that members of the religion should not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race or economic standing?

    Respect for God's Word

Religious titles - matthew 23:1-10 - Do leaders of this religion like to be called by honorific titles and seek prominence in the community, or do they obey Jesus' command to avoid doing so?

Use of images in worship - Exodus 20:4-5; 1 John 5:21 - Does this religion obey the Bible's clear command to avoid the use of images and idols in the worship of God?

You can also ask yourself, which religion encourages people to study the Scriptures to see if what they are learning is really true?

You can use these points to analyze any religion to see if they are living by the truth, the Bible is the truth, search it out.

If you would like to know more about this and other themes, next time Jehovah's Witness come to your door, ask them for a free Bible study at your convenience. You will never regret all the knowledge you will acquire and remember that what you do with that knowledge is your choice.

Jesus never said "find a church that suits you".

He isn't confused, he knows what he wants, he only set up ONE Church - people joined by being baptised in water and in the Holy Spirit (evidenced by speaking in tongues)

    - Acts 2:4, 33, 37-39; 1 Cor. 12:13.

He is returning soon fpr those that are faithful to what HE wants - THEY will be his bride, NOT people that do what THEY want and ignoring the bits of his will they don't like!

Ask the Lord to show the right place and He will. I went on holiday last year and didn't know where there was a church. I asked the Lord to show me, went walking. A man spoke to me so I asked him where the church was. He said, "Which one?" I said I don't know, any one. Instantly he showed where there were three. The next day (Sunday), the Lord led us to a Baptist Church and it was great. I couldn't have found it on my own but God knows exactly where the churches are and where you should be, so don't hesitate, ask Him.

Look for a church that seems to be teaching the full truth and striving to live it in love and not one that entertains you or fits your menu of taste

I found this in the Catholic Church

  • ask the locals and pray to God for help finding the right church

or just try all of them and see which one you like best(:

just remeber the reason you are going to church....

    God Bless<3
