Computer science teachers?

I'm entering my sophomore year in highschool and i'm deciding on majoring in computer science in college, my school doesn't offer any computer classes and I was wondering if there's anyone that is willing to teach some one for free, its fine if your just a student that had taken class or any teachers that would be willing to teach me the basics for free, or if you know anyway I can have a free teacher that gives one on one online teaching/lessons or whatever you wanna call it, thanks

Actually, you just need to start learning to program which you can do on your own with some textbooks. Go buy a C++ and a Java book. Seriously, this will be IMMENSELY helpful. The faster you get into programming the better. Download Eclipse (Integrated Development Environment, IDE for shor) and follow the tutorials to run your programs.

You may want to narrow down which part of the Computer Science world you want to pursue. Do you want to be the one that builds the computer and the network, or the one that makes the software work? You can definitely do both, but whatever job you get should only have you focusing on one side or the other.

I just graduated with a Computer Science degree, pursuing the programming side of things. There's always something new coming out that requires learning a different language or some new form of API. The best way at learning any of these languages is to pick up a book, prepare to Google, and practice by creating real life applications. By real life, I mean an application that means something to you. A lot of the books you can get at a book store will brush the surface, having you display "Hello World" or some other mundane program. They never really clicked for me as much as a program that I personally used. For example, when I wanted to learn Java, I got my book, prepared Google, and wrote myself a Star Wars d20 Character Creation Program. It taught me several different things about the language and it meant something great to me to finish it. If you go programming, be prepared for languages to constantly add and change.

Hardware or networking side, it wouldn't hurt you to buy a CompTIA A+ book and try to aim for that certification by your graduation. *shrugs* Just a suggestion...

What school nowadays offers no computer classes? I would transfer to a different school. If you want a degree in computer science self-learning online won't cut it.
