Hotter'N Hell 100 - Fuel and extra sodium needs in extreme weather?

I will be doing HNH 100 in late August. I have tried various energy food and found Hammer's Perpetuem works pretty well for me during my weekend group rides. Considering the expected longer time in the heat, one will lose sodium through sweating. I wonder if I need to bring some sodium capsules with me or if the sodium in Perpetuem is enough.

Sodium alone will be pretty bad for you; you want some sort of supplement that supplies sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. All four electrolytes, no more, no less.

Personally I like Nuun tablets. They dissolve in a regular 1/2 liter water bottle, and there's no sugar, just a bit of citric acid for flavoring. They also contain all four electrolytes.

Bottom line: talk to your doctor or a nutritionist first. I'm not gonna be held responsible if you still manage to mess yourself up with a hydration plan coming from a non-professional.
