Kilts are badass. You can wear one to formal events, where you'd normally wear a suit and tie, but they also work as casual wear, with a button-down shirt and wool sweater. They're mainly for people of Scottish or Irish heritage, but if you've got the confidence to rock one, it doesn't matter. Girls will eat it up, because it's different.
