Of course I do.But it must also be conceded that the converse also holds. In the Final analysis,it is a given that behind a happy and successful family, every member of the family puts his/her shoulder to the wheel to keep the forward progress going.
It is all a team work.If someone attributes the success solely to one spouse ,then that smacks of hubris on the part of that spouse who claims to be the cause for the
success. It may be that the contribution of that one spouse may warrant such a claim. But arrogance would in the long run set the family back.A little humility would only enhance the value of the contribution to that success.
Have a Nice Day.

Well, the first flippant answer that pops to mind is, "That's the best place for them!"
Now, to be serious, no, I don't agree with it. It may be true in some cases but you have to analyze the situation; a great number of people need the support and encouragement of another person to stretch to make that extra effort that will mean success. Usually that is going to be the spouse; someone there all the time to "just believe" in you and help you believe in yourself. But not everyone needs that.
So, to adjust the saying and be more "correct," we would have to say, "Behind many but not all successful persons, there is often another person." Doesn't have the same ring, does it. ...but you get my drift.
Some people can do it without but most people need that extra prompting and stroking that a spouse can and will provide. Did I just talk myself into agreeing with this?

Behind every successful man, there might be a "good" woman.
Even so... I still think a man can be a success all on his own.

This is doubly sexist; it implies that men need women to push them to success, and it also implies that the woman takes a back seat so as to get her other half up the success ladder!
While it's often true that a partnership is way more successful than one on their own, I don't think it's gender dependent. Look at Winnie Mandela for example. I can think of many other successful men who never had a serious woman in their lives, and also plenty of women in the same circs. I once quoted this to my wife, and she was horrified to think that she should be "pushing" me to success, she wanted me to find it of my own accord, though she'd help me in any way she could.
So, no, I don't agree with the statement in a modern context.

And behind that woman there's a man that pounds her instead of the successful man...

To be successful in anything requires commitment, knowledge, and opportunity.Individual success has
to have support from a support network.Your Mom ,your Dad,your significant other, your children, your friends all play a role in determining your attitude and eventually the opportunities you will take advantage of.This old adage is really quite lame.

Not really....Every successful man does not have a good woman. I am successful and single.

That's a ridiculous statement. You would have to say the same thing about successful women. Don't we all have mothers?
