How do you tell someone they smell bad without hurting their feelings?
A girl at school smells. Every time she sits near me, I can smell... This is so embarrassing to say... But I think she has a yeast infection or chlamydia or something because she smells like rotten vagina.
I don't know her very well, she's new to school. I don't want to hurt her feelings or make her feel threatened or bullied. She's really nice, and a bit shy. She transferred to my school partly because she was bullied.
What is the best thing to do in this situation? If it were one of my close girlfriends it would still be awkward.

You wouldn't be able to smell chlamydia or a yeast infection. Thankfully I have never known what a rotten vagina smells like. It's obviously some kind of body odour. I think you just have to take her aside one day after school is over and tell her that you feel awkward saying it but you would want someone to tell you in the same situation. Then say that she smells bad and you were concerned about what it could be. It will be more embarrassing for her. It could save her from being bullied and you will be doing her a favour. Say she should maybe see a doctor or try some new products.

invite her over for dinner one day. so she feels accepted.. then tell her what you said here.
Look i dont know how to tell you this but I like you i think your cool and I know other people will like you too. However you just came to a school where the kids care so much about other people that they overlook themselves there for they search and find reasons to pick on people. I really want to help you but I don't know how to tell you that i'm scared other kids in school will pick on you because of a smell that comes from you. Can i do anything to help?
No matter what she is going to be hurt the that is the lightest blow to her ego. more so because it's hidden between a hole bunch of supportive talk!

She may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supperativa. It is not an easy condition to discuss, and is marked by open draining wounds that never heal. Mine are located in my Groin, Inner and Outer Labia, and tailbone. It's a disease I do not wish on anyone. I am sure she knows that she smells bad, but there may be nothing she can do about it. I keep mine covered...some people do not. Either way, you should leave it up to the teacher or school principal to tell her....

You should go visit the school nurse and tell her about this girl. Tell the nurse that you feel badly for her, that you think she may not know about the smell or how to control it, but you're afraid of her being teased again due to the smell. Again, make sure you're doing this for the right reasons, and also DON'T tell any of your friends that you're doing this...that would be just plain cruel.
