GLASS STOP STOVE, WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THEM?

What do you like and don’t like about Glass top stove?

I want to change my electric stove to a Gas one; but thinking to buy a Glass top one. Are they good to have? What do I need to know before buying one? Because I never used one before I see them in people’s houses that’s about it.

I heard they have a “special” cleaning product to buy all the time to clean them. Is warm soapy water can do the job please? Again, I don’t see myself relying on chemical cleaning product right now.

Please tell what you know about glass top stove.

Merci Beaucoup mes amis!

    Darline,

I have a very, very old stove. Although it is not a glass top stove,it is in a way. It is Porcelain, and that is very similar to glass because it is a byproduct of glass. If it weren't for the fact that it is black, and lemon oil hides any scratches, I would be having a cow every time I looked at it. Glass scratches very easy. Once it does get scratched, nothing will take that out. You will have to have it refinished. Oh soap and water will get the dirt off but there will always be a worn looking surface to it. I wouldn't recommend a glass top stove to anyone unless it is black like mine is ,then lemon oil makes it look spanking new.
