Creating an Asian biotope?

How would you create an Asian biotope that features the rosy red barbs (Puntius Barbus), what species of asian fish goes along in the rosy red's biotope? species of plants? is it a slow moving stream system or a fast moving rapid river system? I have a fairly large tank 180 gallons of water to work with but the reason i asked the biotope to center around the barbs is because ive purchase a school of them already and i would love to have the barb in a biotope aquarium along with fish that live naturally with the barbs

Off the top of my mind (okay maybe not), some asian fish that would complement the barbs are: loaches, some types of sharks, asian catfish, glass catfish.

    some plants are:

    Crinum, Ceratopteris, Hygrophila, Cryptocoryne, Nymphaea

i think a medium- fast flowing stream is best suited to these fish.

this site is great: http://fish.mongabay.com/biotope.htm#Southeast Asian River (if its dead, remove the bit after the #)
