Do you think you could sum up the first Harry Potter films for people who haven’t seen them ?

It’s been 10 years since the first Harry Potter movie hit the big screen. Now here’s a challenge for fans… With the saga now coming to an end, do you think you could sum up the first 7 films in as few words as possible for people who haven’t seen them or read the books?

You can discover more details about Harry Potter on Y! network

A young wizard called Harry got his parents killed by an evil lord Voldemort while he was a child. Harry was the chosen one in the wizard society. He was undaunted and untouchable by Voldemort so good guys assisted Harry to kill the death-eaters and save the world. He had been fighting Voldemort for many years from his childhood to his teenage. In the end Harry kept his promise and removed all darkness with his magical power. Most part of the stories in this film was formed around the witchcraft school called Hogwarts.

Although I only started reading Harry Potter a couple of month's ago.. A huge part of me died when I watched the final film in the cinema. Every single person in my family are Harry Potter fan's. I'v grown up with harry potter, It's been around basically since I was born. It has played a huge part in my life. Harry Potter is one of the greatest thing's i'v ever shared with my family..

When you've grown up with something, You don't want it to end. It's like loosing a family member. It come's a real shock.

J.K. Rowling has inspired me in the most amazing way possible. I never used to have any talent, When I finished the final book I didn't want it to stop there! So I discoverd the world of fan fiction :) I thought that i'd give a go at writing my own.. I rely enjoy it!! WRITING HAS BECOME MY TALENT,MY HOBBY, MY SECOND LIFE !!!

To all the potter head's out there.. If any muggle's give you a hard time saying that Harry Potter is stupid just say to them..

"ok, you try and think of something el's that has spawned 10 books, 8 movies, 2 musical's, A THEME PARK!, and billion's of pounds!"

    .. LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER !! :D :D <3

  • Simply magical, they allow you to almost join Harry and the others on their journey you feel apart of it as so many of us have said Harry Potter has become part of our lives and it will never be over as long it's in our hearts. The movies bring the books alive, it's exciting because as your watching you'll see a scene or hear a line from one of the characters and you'll go ohh i remember that line in the book. The cast is amazing no one else could have played Harry Potter as well as Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as his faithful companions, Hermione and Ron.

It's incredible because when you watch the first few films you get an connection to the characters you feel for them when their lost, you want to help them and when a character dies you feel like your grieving for a person you've lost in the real world.

Harry Potter Truly is a magical adventure, it's taught us to believe anything is possible as long as we believe, The Golden Trio never gave up , and Harry always in dark times had some one by his side.

It's more than just a film or a book, you can relate to the characters and even though some are followers of the Dark Lord, you can feel for them as well, J.K Rowling wrote her books in such a way that she misleads us, particularly with Professor Snape, from the beginning watching Snape as a kid i was frightened of him as much as Ron was, because your seeing it from the view point of the characters you believe that he is bad, in a sense you don't see what's going on behind the scenes it's as if Harry, Ron and Hermione have turned up at a bad time.

Summing up all 7 Films in a few words would be difficult but i'd say again that it's magical, it's an adventure brought to life by the big screen sometimes it's hard to visualise what a particular scene may look like when reading the books but with the movies everyone gets the same image.

The movies are for everyone so many of us have growed up with them and we believe that the books and the movies should be showed to the next generation :) Harry Potter is never over!

On his 11th birthday he is told that he is a wizard and that his parents were killed by the most evil wizard of all time which is of course more believable than a car crash. He goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he meets wise old Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster, along with numerous other teachers and students who either love or hate him (the ones who hate him are usually evil) including his sidekicks and best friends Ron and Hermione. Over the next six years he faces numerous challenges which would have been made much easier if he'd known the secret that is revealed at the end of every film at the beginning. Quite often these challenges involve the evil Lord Voldermort, except for the 3rd film where he has to try and defeat a rat in order to free his godfather. Lots of people he loves die, including, mysteriously, all of his father figures. In the 7th film Harry discovers that Dumbledore, who is now dead, has left him a mission with hardly any help or guidance, basically just a case of "Find these 7 objects. I'm not going to tell you what or where they are but you have to find them in order to kill Voldermort." The 7th film ends with the trio searching for these objects.

Sorry to sound cynical, I actually love the books, just the films annoy me sometimes.

Watch the last one first Deathly Hallow part 2 and it will all make sense. Just like my English teacher said about Jane Eyre: 'you dont understand the first bit until you've read the second'

'So why dont we read it back to front' shouted a student from the back

No haven't watched them all. But when Harry was a baby does his mother and father cast a protective spell on him or something - that's why 'you know who' couldn't kill him or is the protective magic simply a parent's LOVE for a child? 'its in your skin Harry'

And is Professor Snape Harry's dad? Dumbledor says to Snape 'have you grown to like Harry' and Snape does a spell and i think the photos on the wall change then the shocked Dumbledor replies 'all this time'. Have i got the wrong end of the wand here?

Anyway the plot i think comes together beautifully at the end Harry being a hoarcrox* and Snape and Dumbledor secretly protecting him from the begining.

Its intelligence rather than power - but then you can say intelligence is a type of power. But you can't leave out character either - bravery, courage, friendship, and all of that.

So I mean it is no doubt fiction however what it comes down to are things we human beings feel and experience. there has to be a connection or else no it wouldn't work. Maybe not for the people who are easily taken by fantasies like me. I watch it coz of the dragon's and Hermione*

And you wont even believe it

Harry is an orphan who has been poorly treated by his uncle & aunt - he has nothing, he lives in a cupboard under the stairs & is treated like the lowest of the low this sets a lot of the context for why he wants to go on when anyone else would have quit> he is is rescued at age 11 & brought to a magical world to find that he is a hero & he was responsible for the demise of a man of great evil. he also finds out that this person died after killing his mum & dad.

film 1 - harry is getting to understand his new world & makes firm friends who are amazed he want s to spend time with them - but hes never had friends etc. they realise that some kind of evil is afoot - a unicorn is killed & Voldermort is alive. it turns out dumbledore had some dealings with him as he used to attend hogwarts. the Philosophers stone grants eternal life or can brinsomethingng back to life - harry stopped voldermort.

    2. Dobby is introduced - a house elf - that constantlcauseses harry problems whilstryingng to keep him safe. - the chamber gets opened and children attacked who are not pure blood wizards. It turns out harry is a parselmouth(can speak to snakes - which voldermort & slytherin could have, the four houses at school are name d after the founder one of which was dodgy - slytherin. Harry gets into the chamber - meets a young voldermort - & Saves Ginny Weasly - (his best mates sister)

Turns out voldermort put cut his soul into pieces & could rise again - which explains how he almost came back in the 1st year.

When Harry Potter was a baby, the evilest wizard, Voldemort, came to his home and killed his parents, James and Lilly Potter. When voldemort tryed to cast a spell on Harry, it didn't work, and instead of hurting harry, the spell backfired and got voldemort, making him very week and Harry became famous for 'the boy who lived'. Because harry's parents died, harry had to live with his mean uncle and auntie and horrible cousin, all known as the Dursleys. When Harry was 10 he got a letter from Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry, to join the school. He got to the school and met Ron and Hermione. Harry learnt that voldemort was still out in the world somewhere looking for him, but he was too week so he had to live off another person. When Voldemort got stronger, Harry had to find a way to destroy him, but the only way he could do that was to destroy all the horcruxes, if he destroyed all them, voldemort would die forever. With the help of Harry's friends Ron and Hermione, they went looking for all the horcruxes. They find a few and must destroy them, by using the sword of god rick griffindor, every time they destroyed a horcruxe, voldmort got weaker and weaker. In the last film, harry has to find the last 4 horcruxes, including 1, voldemorts snake. Harry destroys 3, but on the way, alot of harry's friends have died trying to save his life. Voldemort and his followers, the death-eaters all come to hogwarts and set it on fire, killing a lot of people. Harry has to destroy the snake to kill vodemort so he goes looking for the snake, but the snake is too strong, but it is eventually killed by a boy called nevil, a brave but strange person, who is almost in all the films. This destroys voldemort, and the wizarding world is safe at last from voldemort. :)

This is just the main characters, there is also, snape (an evil teacher, well, who you THINK is evil), dumbledore(the headteacher who helps harry all the way through but then gets killed by snape), draco (a boy the same age as harry, who gets put on the bad side with voldemort), ginny(a girl who harry marrys) and a lot more too :) you NEED to watch the films :) x

Then he started learning new spells and wizards stuff. And also he has been able to find the Philosopher's Stone. On the second book he started his school life as normal and at the end he found the Tom Riddle's Diary (Lord Voldemort). And he destroyed it. In the third one he found out his Godfather Sirius Black. Black is also known to have murdered the Potters' good friend, Peter Pettigrew. And on the forth one Triwizard Tournament between schools had took place at Hogwarts, and also that Mad-Eye Moody became the new teacher of defense against the dark arts. And in this book Lord Voldemort got his power by Peter Pettigrew s help. And one of the four champions of the tournament Cedric Diggory died at the end. In the fifth one Dolores Umbridge, an employee of Fudge, became the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Harry also sees that one of the glass spheres has his name on it, as well as Voldemort's. Harry grabs the sphere, and Death Eaters surround to attack, demanding that Harry hand over the prophecy. Employing all of their Defense skills, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna, and Neville have moderate success fighting the Death Eaters, but they are ultimately helped enormously by the arrival of several members of the Order. In the midst of the fight, Harry drops the glass sphere, and it shatters and Sirius' own cousin, Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange, kills Sirius. And on Sixth one harry found out that Severus Snape is the Half blood Prince and Dumbledore got murdered by Snape. On the Seventh and the Last Harry Potter book is the most exciting and the most interesting book and the film. On that one harry found all the horcruxes and he returned to Hogwarts with Ron and Hermione to destroy Voldemort and he gets the help of the Dumbledore's army. Several major characters are killed in the first wave of the battle, including Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Fred Weasley, and Severus Snape.

And after Neville Longbottom kills Voldemort's snake Nagini, the last horcrux, Harry finally defeats Voldemort, and the wizarding world lives in peace once more.
