They have decided the U.S. is over so they are using the government to get as much money out of the country as they can as fast as they can. Last wealthy person out of the country don't forget to steal the last light bulb.

Why? Classic class warfare.
The rich, through their bought-and-paid-for political operation known as the republican party, are hell-bent on destroying the "uppity" middle class. Of course, that is nothing new. The rich have been trying to get the upper hand on the middle class and poor for untold generations.
What republicans don't seem to understand is that rich fat cats are not "job creators (that's not quite true - they create lots of job - in India nd China)." What creates jobs in America is a large and prosperous middle class that consumes goods. The middle class's desire for goods creates jobs.
Look, a rich guy can hire all the people he wants to produce all the goods he wants. But, unless there's a thriving and healthy middle class to sell the good produced to, that rich guy will soon go out of business.
Republicans have got it all wrong. They think what is good for the upper class is good for America. The plain truth is that what is good for the middle class, i.e. the consumers, is good for America.

Do you realize that taxing the upper class will not balance the budget? The next step would be to tax the middle class since that is the largest source of taxable income in this country. One needs to look no furthur than california and illinois, who are waist deep in debt and deficits, to see how democrat policies do not work. They tax the upper class now, but you're next. Taxation of the middle class is a certainty under liberal philosophy.

Hilarious. Obama's new tax increase plan includes raising taxes on small businesses and the middle and lower income brackets.
By the way, the Democrats were writing the tax codes from 2007-2011 and during that time they had control of the house, the Senate and the White House from 2009-2011 what did they do about taxing the wealthy? Could it be because 56% of those who make over $1 million a year identify themselves as Democrats?

How many news programs just this week have specifically emphasized the Repubs don't want to increase any income taxes?
It's the Democratic band-aid, taxation. Look at our income tax refunds while Clinton was in office, how much did he take and what did we see at refund time?
Dems also signed in NAFTA, the Repubs dropped it. They're the ones who embraced the overseas labor issues.

Even Obama knows with < 2% GDP growth for 2 straight quarters, tax increases would spark a new round of deflation.

"One of the divisions consists of those who, from particular interest, from natural temper, or from the habits of life, are more partial to the opulent than to the other classes of society; and having debauched themselves into a persuasion that mankind are incapable of governing themselves, it follows with them, of course, that government can be carried on only by the pageantry of rank, the influence of money and emoluments, and the terror of military force."
-- James Madison; from 'A Candid State of Parties' (1792)

I'd be fine with abolishing federal income taxes altogether. We didn't have income tax before 1862 to pay for the Civil War. Wars should be the only reason to tax the citizens at the federal level.

Why do welfare trash liberals like you care in the first place? It's not like your kind really has to worry about being taxed.
Which, of course, doesn't even start to cover the ignorance you're showing by not realizing that the largest parts of the Bush tax cuts went to the poor and middle class.

Yes, it sucks that government has been spending money it doesn't have.. leaving empty promises. But the fact is that the solution to a spending problem is to stop spending the money you don't have. There's no other way around it and it will hurt a lot of programs, but those programs shouldn't have had the money to begin with because government didn't have that money they promised to them.
