Will I ever find a good employee?
I've had an open job for almost a month now, and have posted it on a bunch of the popular sites, but I've been disappointed by the resumes I get. It's a great full time job with competitive pay and awesome benefits, but I keep getting duds. What can I do to entice more qualified people to apply?
It's a customer service position for a dot com, and it's not a high stress job. We have a comfortable environment and very friendly coworkers. Is it possible I'm making it sound too good to be true? Or does advertising the perks attract the wrong kind of applicants?
Edit: would YOU hire someone who was fired from their last 3 jobs? or someone who has a criminal record, including larceny? how about someone with absolutely no experience and terrible phone skills?
Edit: pay is approximately 40% above minimum wage, plus employer paid health benefits.

Lower your standards. Seriously.

You need to either lower your standards or up the compensation. Simple supply and demand.
*Side Note: Not sure where your business is located but if qualified people aren't biting in this labor market then there probably is something wrong with the job and/or compensation.

Hire Someone alittle Older than you might have Otherwise. Older People tend to be More Reliable & have a better Work Ethic. :)
