Hardrives on a blu ray player?

Can you connect a hardrive into a bluray player and play movies of the hardrive? that will be awesome, just wondering

    It depends on the Bluray player. Many have a USB port that you can put a thumb drive (memory stick) into so that the player can save BD-Live and movie data (like resuming play options). You can also view pictures, video and audio from the flash drive. You could use a large flash drive

    You could, instead of a flash drive, connect an external USB hard drive. You may have to format the drive as FAT32 however and the file size might be limited to 4GB. The video files would have to be in a supported format also, like AVI, MPG, DIVx, ACHD or others. The players spec sheet would outline which formats it plays.
