Florida’s session was not all bad news, though. On March 10, 2011, Rep. Jeff Clemens (D – Lake Worth) proposed a constitutional amendment to allow medical marijuana in Florida. Although the bill failed to get a hearing, introduction of medical marijuana legislation helps spark the conversation about the medicinal benefits versus relative harms of medical marijuana – a conversation that activists and patients are feeling ever more comfortable engaging in.
