If it isn't in the alternator then where is it located? I don't see anything on or near the fire wall that resembles any voltage regulator that I have seen in the past & I need to get it checked out because I am having to jump start my car almost every time it sits more than an hour or so. PLEASE no SMART *** answers I need to get this car running & can't pay a garage $80.00per hour to do it. I have always done my own mechanics before & am very good at it but this is a Benz & is all new to me. I need help!!

My car has been having a problem, it is a '79 Mercedes Benz & it died while I was driving it one day. I have replaced the coil & the fuel pump & filter & fuel pump relay. I can get it to start & run but when I put it in gear it dies. In order for me to get it to start I had to advance the timing is my problem most likely that the car has jumped time or is there something else that I am missing that I could fix myself, I am a fairly good mechanic but I have never owned a Benz before & the Mercedes place wants $140.00 just to look at it & unfortunately I don't have that kind of money right now because I am going through chemo therapy for cancer. So if there is any one out there that can help me here I would greatly appreciate it. AND AGAIN NO SMART *** ANSWERS PLEASE!!!

Does turning the distributor on your vehicle to advance or retard the timing change the firing sequence? (please no smart *** answers)

I have a 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL & I am having trouble keeping it started. I replaced the fuel pump relay & now it will start but won't stay running. I don't know enough about this car yet to know where parts are located on the engine & I don't have the diagram or picture that I need to help me locate them. Someone out there please help me!!! I need an exploded View of my electronic fuel injection so that I can locate the fuel safety switch so that I can test & replace it if necessary. Someone help me please I need my car for transportation back & forth to the Moffit Cancer Center where I am going through treatment for MDS leukemia.

I am looking for a dash pad both sun visors & the lower panels for my dashboard all in brown as my interior is brown I am also wondering if I should have a padded back seat. Is there some one out there who may be able to steer me in the right direction without sending me to some website that I have to pay for to get the information I seek.

What is the actual physical location of the fuel pump relay on a 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL? I have wiring diagrams showing the relay but they don't show the actual physical location of it & I need to replace mine.

Am I baking them too long ( 45 - 55 min.) or is it maybe something else? I always allow them to cool completely before I refrigerate them but always the same thing they split open.

We have a custom shower in our master bath & there isn't sufficient to use the massage settings on the shower heads. Is there something I can get to put in line to raise the pressure and wher can I get it? I am on city water so turnig up pressure on pump isn,t an option I don't think.
