Wouldn't legalizing Marijuana generate the needed revenues and avert this debt crisis?

I'll bet it would cure the problem single-handedly!

Update:

GARF..health care costs and crime re legalizing pot??? IT WOULD BE LEGAL...THEREFORE NOT A CRIME. Police could concentrate on REAL criminals that way. It's healthier than alcohol and tobacco!

    No, health care cost for those stoned will increase as will crime and the cost of that.
