Is it possible to turn a headphone jack into a mic jack?

I have two headphone jacks on my computer monitor. I need one mic jack and one headphone jack. Is there any software or hardware that i can use/buy for this? Thanks.

    No.

Sorry for the short answer, but it's impossible to do that.

Something you can do as an alternative is to extend the mic jack from the back of the computer to where your monitor is with a 3.5mm 3-conductor male-to-female cable.

They're available from 3 ft. to 50 ft.

It should be shielded, since it is carrying a mic-level signal. The one in the link below is shielded, and is 12 ft. long.
