What are the things to do before the first day of job?

This is my first job. And I am having a few more days. I am taking it up on Monday. Can someone tell me the things I need to do before going in for the first day. Also I am a little uncertain about the job. I know its normal. But any suggestions on how to be confident and all-set-and-ready about it??

You haven't mentioned the type of job, so I will be generic.

You need to ensure that you are aware of your shift, and arrive early (15 minutes before they tell you is good) this way you are less stressed when you begin. Follow any hygiene (e.g. clean shaven/trimmed nails for some companies) or clothing rules (smart clothing/no sportswear/no visible tattoos) in advance you can always ask them and most employers would give you this information.

Also talk to people around you and introduce yourself and make an effort to learn people's names. This will help you get comfortable with them, and them with you.

You only get one first impression, so getting the above right will help you feel very comfortable, and then if you find yourself not busy, then ask your manager if they need help with anything else, so that you appear willing.

    Good luck and enjoy.
