I don't know if you're from the UK like me, so I don't know what stores we share, but I'll list a few that stock to a lot of places.

You could try ASOS.com http://www.asos.com./ They do a lot of fashion guides and a lot of cheap designer stuff if you look around, but the prices vary a lot.

Zara is often very fashionable and stocks the kind of clothes you referred to http://www.zara.com/ but can be a bit pricey.

H&M stocks a lot of cheap, fashionable clothes http://www.hm.com,/ but you have to sift through to find decent stuff.

Topman/Topshop is my personal favourite for cheap fashion http://www.topman.com./ They'll usually stock the most fashonable stuff in at the time.

As a student also trying to look good on a budget, those are the main ones I use. Good luck :)
