Same ol'question - What retired MLB players should belong in the Hall of Fame?

What retired MLB players should be in the Hall of Fame?

I absolutely can't believe Barry Larkin,Fred McGriff,Lou Whitaker andAlan Trammell were not selected in Baseball's Hall of Fame?

The debate is endless : If Ozzie Smith was selected as a first time ballot, why not Trammell and Whitaker( They had higher BA,HRs more hits), also Fred McGriff hit 493HRs,same as Lou Gehrig.

Since Goose Gossage is in,why not Kent Tekulve(1000 games played,3svs.in '79WS).

Steve Garvey,Dave Parker,Tim Raines, and Tommy John should be in.

Saying that Player X got into the HoF, therefore Player Y should be is a terrible idea in general. You don't correct the error of one undeserving player by adding another. Would adding Alan Trammel magically kick out Eddie Murray? No? Then why let him in?

Ozzie was not selected for his offense, so saying that someone compares favorably to him is not saying much. Alan Trammel's was the fourth best player at his position. Lou Whitaker put together 5 All-Star seasons, but played for 20 years. Neither of them dominated the game, or accumulated the career stats that players like Ozzie or Cal did.

Kent Tekulve? A closer with less than 200 saves? WTF? Tommy John and his 12-win a year average? Steve Garvey, who compares poorly to Will Clark? Fred McGriff, the power hitter who had two seasons leading the league in HRs and who more often then not failed to hit 30?

Winning an MVP once is not a ticket into Cooperstown, and neither is a handful of All-Star appearances.

About the only people I could see on your list as being HoFer are Barry Larkin (who was almost as good at defense as Ozzie, and a far better hitter) and Tim Raines (who was a better on-base and base-stealling machine than anyone not named Rickey).

Ozzie is also the best defensive SS in history. Gehrig's career was cut short because of Lou Gehrig's Disease, and he was much better defensively. Also, McGriff hit HR's in a time where there were ten or more people hitting 30, when in Gehrig's time, only 2 or 3 did. Someone who should be in is Lee Smith, who had the most saves in history before Hoffman and Rivera, Don Mattingly, great hitter and fielder, Keith Hernandez, same, Tim Raines, lots of SB's and lost some hits because of all his walks, and Jack Morris, 300 wins. I don't even know who Tekulve is, so he shouldn't go in. Parker was good but not great, same with Whitaker and Trammell. John is interesting because of his revolutionary surgery, but that's what he's most famous for.

It's not a tired question till justice is done. Ron Santo, Tommy John, Barry Larking, Whitake and Trammel, Tim Raines, Gil Hodges, Dwight Evans, Dave Parker, and others. The voting method simply HAS to change.
