Credit cards make money from two parties:
1. From you: if you don't pay or pay late. Fees and interests.
2. From the seller: they charge x cents for every $.

Because the vast majority of people who use Credit cards are total MORONS = they never pay it all off and are incapable of understanding that $1 spent this month with interest means they have LESS THAN $1 to spend next month ..
It's not hard to slip up .. even if your payment is a day late or a few cents short the Bank hits you with the full interest for that month .. and then you start getting charged interest from date of purchase next month and you have about 7 days after the statement to 'overpay' it all off (i.e. including purchases and interest that is accumulating between statement date and payment date) so getting back to exactly 'zero' is almost impossible ....

If you pay on time, they don't make any profit out of YOU, but they will from the thousands of others who pay less and incur interest, as well as penalty fees if they are late. Some credit card companies have sneaky tricks like holding on to your payment for a week or two before posting it to the account - this makes you technically late (even though you paid on time) and then they add on a penalty fee. Google Premier Credit Card complaints, for examples.
The only sensible way to have a credit card is to stick by their rules, and get the service for free.

If you buy something for $100 at Walmart and use your CC, then Walmart will get around $97 and the CC company will get $3.
