Alcoholism, vomiting related?

My dad has been an alcoholic my entire life. I talked to him recently and he said he's been unable to keep most foods down. This has apparently been an ongoing issue, but has only just become so consistent. He claims to feel healthy otherwise, an not feel sick at all. He says he's been drinking less beer, which I can believe as he seems to be pretty solid 98% of the time we speak.

I can't help but be concerned about his health given his history. I asked some basic questions, and told him he should see a doctor. Being a senior and living off of social security, and having just filed bankruptcy and losing his home of 30 years, he obviously cannot afford to see a doctor. He has a medicinal cannabis prescription from our former family doctor, of which the renewal is due soon. But not soon enough, not if he can't keep solids down.

He *seems* fine otherwise, but I can't say for sure as I have not actually seen him for 6 months. What do you think this random and incessant vomiting is being caused by? Personally I get the feeling I need to prepare myself for my first major loss, if you catch my drift. It's so like him to be in such denial.
