Yes you can but it's not a very pleasant experience and you wouldn't want to do it for long periods. Also it depends on the quality of the tandem, if it's a heavy model it will obviously be hard to ride. You wouldn't want to be whizzing around town alone on a tandem but riding on straight roads isn't any problem.

A step by way of physique on a tandem bike isn't an excellent concept. it could make it extra uncomplicated to mount and dismount, however the physique isn't reliable. it relatively is not a huge undertaking on a single bike, however the plenty longer tandem physique will exaggerate the lack of ability of rigidity. extra to that the extra weight of the 2nd rider could make for a bike which would be very confusing to regulate. because of the fact they are low volume products, tandem motorcycles many times cost plenty extra beneficial than a high quality single bike. on the quoted cost, even a single rider bike could be marginal high quality, for a tandem at this cost you should assume each area of be very damaging high quality. earlier you purchase this bike, it may be an concept to go searching to confirm in case you may lease a tandem for an afternoon to confirm what you're stepping into
