How do you say "pleco" I know the "proper way" but want to see your way, and what region/area?

I'm out west and we tend to mumble over some vowels. So most people say pleh co. I've heard occasional Play Co and the "proper" Pleeco too, but 99% of locals in the fish store will say plehco or more like "pleck oh".

How do you say it or people in your area say it? Are you UK, East Coast US, West Coast US, South US, Canada, etc?

Also, do you say crayfish, crawfish, craw dad, yabby, or what? We say Craw Dad or crawfish, but again I've heard it other ways.

I'm west coast too. Say pleck-o but have heard the "proper" way is pleeco (short for plecostomis and online it will pronounce that for you and says the pleeco sound http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=plecostomus but have heard it pronounced as pleco as well online! http://www.forvo.com/word/zebra_pleco/). Playco I've heard only once and the girls said it like 50 times and the sales person kept saying it the other way, plecko. It was funny. I will always say plecko which sounds right and based on my understanding of how to pronounce latin words, I do believe it is really the right way.

We say Crawfish or Crawdad. I've also heard Mud Puppy.
