Would you answer my revised question about hyperklemia?
I saw an episode of "Trama Life in the ER" many years ago. A man had jumped off an four-story parking lot and lived for a short time. The fall wasn't a direct cause of his death. The ER teaching doctor said the man became hyperklemic because of the fall, had become a bad of liquid, and died. I would like to understand what happens after the body sits on the gourney for a while after that event.

Potassium levels in a normal healthy person are around 20 times higher inside of your cells as outside, when you suffer a massive trauma like jumping off a tall building many of your cells will burst right then, and even more will die and rupture as a result of lost blood flow, poor oxygenation and the like. As potassium levels in the blood increase they alter the way electrical signals in the heart are transmitted telling the heart to contract, eventually this alteration reaches the point that the heart can no longer effectively pump blood and the body dies rapidly due to a lack of oxygen to the brain, heart, and other critical organs
