You can get iron in a multivitamin pills.

My other suggestion is to buy a IRON skillet pan. If you cook with an iron dish it also gives you small amounts of iron.

Someone else told me that you can get iron through that cereral called "TOTAL"

Your stomach may be sensitive to iron, so it would be best to take the iron pill with food.

Wow - this is an important one! - You don't want to overload with iron or get the wrong kind. So if your doctor told you this, get the doctor to tell you what to buy and what dosage to use.

The problem with a lot of doctors, however, is that they don't know much about this. They don't take nutrition very seriously... so if your doctor really doesn't know, get Atkins - "Vita-Nutrient Solution" - there's an article in there about iron - what kind - what dosage. If you buy that used off of Amazon, you can get it really cheap - it's a great book on all the vitamins and minerals and aminos and how they're used in medicine.

Only take as much as the Doctor prescribed as too much Iron is toxic to your system !!

Dr. also should have recommended the amount you should take.. Usually the recommendation is on the bottle, for adults and children..
