Would the death toll in Norway be so high if the Police Officers were allowed to carry firearms?

Police in Norway do not carry firearms on a regular basis, they keep the firearms locked up for special occasions like this. However, to use the firearms, they need permission from the commissioner. Could a man like this do so much damage in a country like the U.S.?

It very probably would not have been as high but many would have likely died regardless..

If he's a good enough shot like this guy was, then yes even in the US he could have shot a lot of people before being put down by the police.

Yes & yes, it took police 40 minutes to get to the island. FYI, police do have guns in their cars and if there is not time to contact a supervisor they can arm themselves and act. Their weapons are H&K MP5s & P30s.

probably because they were all dead by the time the police arrived ,this didn't happen in a high street,it was on a remote island, also they are glad he is still alive as they can find out more about the reason he did it

Yes. Loughner did so much damage in Tucson because we're allowed to carry guns here, but in liberal pockets like Pima County, nobody does. They're all against guns. Even the cops would have been afraid to shoot the bastard had they even been present. It took a 61 year-old white-haired grandma to wrestle the shooter's next clip from his hands and put a stop to him.

    Yes.

The coward targeted a day camp.

There is no punishment too harsh to fit the crime for this act
