Don't You Just LOVE how whenever a celebrity dies, everyone all of a sudden loves said celebrity?

No, i'm not trying to be rude or anything, i'm just saying. I mean, Amy Winehouse was amazingly talented and yes a lot of people liked her music before she passed, but while she was alive for the past few years she was the subject of ridicule by SO many, who are now the same people that are talking about how much they love her and how tragic her death was. I bet that a few weeks from now, people will go back to bashing her. The same thing has happened with plenty of other celebrities. And i just love how now people choose to appreciate her music, two of her albums are currently on the top 10 of the iTunes charts.

I was never a huge Amy Winehouse fan but I liked some of her music and I had respect for her as an artist for the talent she did hold. Her personal life is another story, it's a shame she couldn't share more music and it's too bad that she couldn't save herself before her life was cut short.

Death is a sad thing, she shouldn't have died but it's life and people die everyday.

All you can do is hope she's in a better place and pay your respects.

Yes, when Michael Jackson died it really pissed me off that the media who ridiculed him and ruined his entire life acted as though they suddenly loved him and nothing had ever happened. The bandwagon people I didn't mind so much because I knew that they probably did really like Michael even just a little bit, because everyone loves Michael at least a little. And yea, it kinda peeved me that some of those people ruthlessly made fun of him and then acted as though they didn't, but I also understood that even though I hated it, it was the "cool" thing to do at the time. I knew that the bandwagon would fade away and the real fans would be known in a few years. But the media, they can go to hell.

Yeah I know, her cds went straight to #1.

    Sad? Yes.

But i've always loved the song "Rehab" :D

    RIP Amy Winehouse <3

  • Well that happened to me with Michael Jackson but Amy Winehouse... ehh........ I never really liked her because of her drug, alchol and smoking addiction and it lead her to all this and she would want to regret that if she were alive and everything you know.

Yeah, ikr?? When MJ died, he was so popular, and his albums were selling so fast! I guess celebrities are worth more when they are dead rather than alive... :/ that's also when all these "hidden secrets" unravel, too! People come forward telling the media about their hidden secrets and scandals, and all the media is focused on that dead celebrity!

Source(s): the media and their focuses :/

I never liked her music and her bad habits. I'm assuming that her death was due to drug overuse. I don't see her death as tragic, I see her life as tragic (especially when I saw the video of her some time ago in the middle of a very bad, drugged up performance).

I completely agree. I never really liked Amy Winehouse, and now suddenly everyone misses her...like seriously? Michael Jackson is a perfect example.

That's so true. I remember people would always make fun of MJ and then when he died, a lot of people started saying "omg I love Michael Jackson!" even though I knew they made fun of him.

It's more just that people analyse something or someone more when they are are gone.

Nothing new there. It's always been like that, just faster means of communicating it now.

I agree 100%. I believe it's because they're phony. Michael Jackson is the perfect example. End of story
