iPod capacity question?
I have an 8GB iPod touch 2nd gen. When I sync my ipod to my itunes or check the about section it says the capacity is 6.8 GB. It used to say 7, which is still not 8. Why is this? where is my other 1.2gb?

the other 1.2 gb is taken up by the software and firmware that is installed on the iPod. there is no way you can recover this space.

When any manufacturer list the capacity of their devices, they use 1000 MB = 1 GB which is the incorrect unit of measurement. When you plug it into a computer, the computer uses 1024 MB = 1GB (this is correct unit of measurement). So when you plug it into a computer, it will report it have a smaller capacity than 8GB.
