Christians, it scares the crap out of you to think there might not be an afterlife for you, doesn't it?

Seriously, I'd wager most of you right now would have a panic attack followed up with a stroke and heart attack if there was scientific proof that God doesn't exist and that everything you've read in your holy texts is just flat out nonsense.

But does it really bruise your egos that much? You didn't know what life was like before you were here, do what difference does it make that you become nothing once again?

No. It simpler than this. If you truly believe there is no life after death and we all go in the grave it doesn't matter what man believes in. We are arguing over issues that in the end are not important for mankind.

But if these ideas are true and man does life forever than this issue becomes very important. For the actions that we do on earth do have lasting consequences to us personally.

Christians recognize that man is not the ultimate authority in the universe and we recognize the manifestations he chose to reveal his truth in that is all stated in the bible. God does not man to be clueless as to his nature and his expectations for man is. It is good to know that God is interested in what we think and how and how we behave with others and to God.

Would it scare me to believe there isn't an afterlife? No. It would bother me to realize how much time I wasted with others just dealing with this issue.

I can't believe how many atheist there are like you flipping out on us.Stfu get a life and respect what we believe.Does it bruise your poor ego that they found Jesus's DNA that has no DNA from a father.Or that they found remains of Noah's ark.Or that the very sea god split open then let swallow the enemy and there chariots has chariot remains.Or that people had near death experiences and felt something was with them.

If there was scientific "proof" that God didn't exist I wouldn't believe it. I would chalk it up to human error. God has proven himself to me in countless ways!

If there was no afterlife I wouldn't care because I wouldn't be aware of it! But there is one and I have great hope because of the promises of God regarding the future!

Revelation chapters 21-22 are especially exciting to me. :-)

I appreciate your point but I take the opposite view: I think most of them have secretly decided it's all crap or you wouldn't see them living like they do. What's the main difference between their lifestyles and ours? Nothing! Except maybe that I choose to spend my Saturday nights in. I think the hedonistic little buggers have it all figured out and are reveling in the prejudices that christianity affords them

You are a little late. There is now scientific knowledge found in The Bible that predates when any human alive on Earth could have known it for it to have originated from. It is found in the book of Leviticus. The food and hygiene laws in Leviticus can now be proven to be based on someones working knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body 3500 years ago when they were first established for humans to follow. The problem that now creates is the fact that there were 0 humans alive on Earth 3500 years ago who had a working knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body for these food and hygiene laws to have originated from. That proves there had to be a non human scientific mind alive on Earth 3500 years ago for these food and hygiene laws to have originated from. The Bible is quoting a certain Intelligent Designer we have named Yahweh speaking and teaching these advanced food and hygiene laws for the first time to a human named Moses. I believe that fact will now scare the crap out of you that there is an afterlife after all and there is a Higher Authority after all Who we will have to answer to in the after life.

I am not a theist but the thought of no afterlife makes me very sad. There have been some dear friends and beloved pets who have passed on and I want to see them again.

It is less scary for a righteous person to die and discover there is no God than for an unrighteous one to die and discover there is. But if, as you say, there is nothing after this life, then why should I die of fright? Before I was born, I knew no fear, pain, sadness, toil, or loss. It is a peaceful thought, actually, and I think that is what you are wanting. But I think you are wrong.

When I first became an atheist, I was afraid of death more then ever, then I realized I was fine with nothingness for billions of years before I was born.
