Can Josh Beckett win the AL MVP if Red sox makes into the postseason, this year?

    Can he? Yes, will he? No.

    For a pitcher to win MVP, in my mind, they would have to have a record of like 30-0 with 400k's and below 1 era. Impossible, but truly valuable.

    No. Pitchers very rarely win MVP. Also, MVP means Most Valuable Player. I wouldn't say that he's been the most valuable player for the Sox. That would be Adrian Gonzalez. Weaver and Verlander are the only pitchers that even have a chance at MVP and I don't think either of them will win it.

    No, everyday players usually win MVP and Beckett isn't even in the lead for the Cy Young.

    No, because usually (99%) the AL & NL MVP's are position players. They usually give the best pitcher in each league the Cy Young which is basically the MVP pitcher from each league.

    No, and likely not Cy Young either, reason? Usually it's a non pitcher who wins these. Beckett's great, but again-answer-No.

    Adrian Gonzalez would. Pitchers usually don't win MVP. That's what Cy Young Awards are for.
