Who are the top ten NBA players?

Here's my list? what do you guys think?

1. Wade

2. Dirk

3. Howard

4. Kobe

5. Rose

5a. Durant

7. James*

8.. Paul

8a. Williams

10. Either Melo or Stoudamerie

*This spot is not a reaction to last month's NBA finals. It stems from my continued analysis of the league in general and yes in particular James, the most overhyped player in sports history.

What does Lebron have to do (or not do) before you guys realize that he's not up there with the league's best? He has the most average turnovers in nba finals history, and in those games he averages under 20 points and under 6 assists. Those games matter, kind of a lot actually.

And don't talk to me about regular season numbers because I have too much to say. Here's just a handful: Lebron avg .81 blks per 48 min last season. point of refrence? Rose avg .84 and Wade had 1.5, (again that's per 48 min). Lebron was 84th in the league in that category (Wade 40th, Rose 81st). He's a great rebounder right?? Yeah, he had 1.0 offensive rebounds per game last year, good for 15th out of small forwards in the league and not even in the top 100 in the league. Wade had 1.6 (40th in league) in less minutes. Wade had the most offensive rebounds and blocks out of all guards.

Unlike others on this list James is not an elite scorer. Period. Against bad offensive teams (like most in the league) he will get out in transition a lot - and once his team is up by 5 or 10, there's no one better and raining threes on unenthused scrubs. But in a close, half-court game against a good, efficient team? He's probably 5th out of small forwards in putting the ball in the hoop, (Durant, Anthony, Pierce, Granger - yeah you heard me, Granger is the better half court scorer)

Defense? He's elite right? Look up what those other small forwards (esp. Durant and Anthony) do to him on a regular basis. Marion scored more points per minutes in the finals than James. Terry crossed him over often throughout the series, and twice in a row in the closing minutes of game 5. Loul Deng outscored him 4 out of the 8 games they played against each other last season.

Update:

Wade could and did shot Rose down in the Eastern Conference finals. I saw every game and don't remember him scoring on him in the 10+ possessions he guarded him. The difference was that when Wade guarded him --- he didn't take shots. He couldn't find the space.

    1. Wade (can do anything on the court, simply the best player in the NBA, stats wise he is very close

to lebron, who is regarded as being the best player stats wise, despite being 4 inchs

shorter, and on top of that, Wade has the heart of a champion, something that lebron is

    missing)

    2. Howard (Best center in the nba, a total beast at anything that a big man is expected to be good at,

you could pair him with any power forward and they would still be better than most

    frontcourts in the nba)

    3. Dirk ( just go watch the 2011 playoffs and see how skilled he is)

    4. Kobe (the signs of age are begining to apear, but he could still lead a team to a victory with his

    amazing scoring ability)

    5. Durnat (best scorer in the NBA and he's only 22)

    6. Rose ( i believe he's a little overrated, but what he did on the court for the bulls was still amazing,

and he's the youngest player to be named MVP even though some might say he didn't

deserve it, i believe he deserved it just as much as anyone else in teh league )

    7. James ( MOST OVERRATED PLAYER EVER, and this is comming from a Heat fan, he's simply

not as good as everyone thinks he is, he definitly did not deserve the 08'09 MVP award

that he got (Wade was robbed) and his stats are misleading, anyone who is 6'8 with

lebrons athletic ability should put up 8 rebounds with ease (almost all the rebounds he

grabs are defensive rebound, were his teamates box out and he just comes and takes it,

its not that hard to do, and anyone who holds the ball as much as lebron should be able to

avg. 8 assists (i really think lebron kills the offence by only making passes that get him an

assist, and by standing at the 3 point line holding the ball and letting the shot clock run

down to about 14 seconds, hes simply a stathog and not a winner at all)

    8. Chris paul ( Great point gaurd, he's the person that i would want running my offence more than

    anyone else)

    9. Deron williams ( another great point gaurd)

    10. Amare (showed us that he doesnt need Nash to produce, and showed us that hes a winner by

playing through an injury in this years playoffs)

    1. LeBron James- Sorry, but I completely disagree with you on LeBron James. First of all, LeBron is still an average offensive rebounder at the small forward, but he is a very good defensive rebounder. LeBron was 2nd in the NBA in scoring, so there's no way you can possibly make an argument that he's not a good scorer. During the Eastern Conference Finals, Derrick Rose shot 6% when guarded by LeBron. Could Wade shut him down like that? I didn't think so, LeBron is the best perimeter defender in the entire NBA.

    2. Derrick Rose

    3. Dirk Nowitzki

    4. Dwight Howard

    5. Dwyane Wade

    6. Kevin Durant

    7. Kobe Bryant

    8. Chris Paul

    9. Carmelo Anthony

    10. Amare Stoudemire
