lip & tongue piercing question?
i had my lip pierced 2 months ago, It got swollen for the first 2 days only. Then after a month i noticed that it got swollen during the night and when i would wake up it would wear off in an hour. This lasted 4 days.
Now i'm tongue pierced (day 6) and it gets swollen at night and calms down a bit in the day. The swelling is still present though, cause it's still fresh piercing.
Does this have to do with blood pressure?
Why is this happening?

Sometimes lying down causes blood to pool in your upper body, which can contribute to swelling. My lips often swell during the night and then wear off as the day goes on.

You can do severe harm in your enamel with a tongue piercing. On the opposite hand, I consider the tongue heals quicker/extra totally than the lip should you difference your brain and take it out.

Okay, so humans in the first stages of our existence had to rely on primitive defenses and because of our poor eyesight we were vulnerable during the nighttime. This is why any injury or sickness feels more painful during the night. Our bodies as humans are still reacting to the vulnerability during the night, it's a survival "instinct".
