I pierced my tongue 18 days ago. is it safe for me to eat hot peppers, garlic, spicy food and stuff like that? is there a chance of new swelling or sth worse?

my piercer told me to use only titanium for my tongue, lip, nose and navel. cause anything else, especially surg.steel could irritate the skin. He said bioflex is safe though. unfortunately all the jewels i like for my tongue and navel piercings are not titanium.

any other materials as safe as titanium?

my swelling is going down so tomorrow i'll change the bar to a shorter one. is there a chance that the swelling might come back from changing the bar or from trauma? do i have to use the longer bar again if so?

i had my lip pierced 2 months ago, It got swollen for the first 2 days only. Then after a month i noticed that it got swollen during the night and when i would wake up it would wear off in an hour. This lasted 4 days.

Now i'm tongue pierced (day 6) and it gets swollen at night and calms down a bit in the day. The swelling is still present though, cause it's still fresh piercing.

Does this have to do with blood pressure?
