Are we marketing the whole fiscal responsibility thing poorly to liberals?
Maybe we should try something about how without the massive debt payments in the future we could be able to give out hundreds of billions in more free government handouts. You know, give liberals a little something that they care about to hook them in.. since we know the good of the country will never get their attention.

They've been so brainwashed by 60 years of communist propaganda, all they can think about is tearing down the rich and corporations. And any political party alleged to support business and private property. They don't care about the country or even themselves, it's all about destroying capitalism and the fruits thereof.
So I think your argument is not hitting the center of the target.

The problem is all the years the conservatives ignored their own marketing. It's kind of tough to believe them now.
