Is it actually possible to make the world a 'better place'?

I believe the world is just fine as it is... that what a person experiences as dis-satisfaction is simply them being out of alignment with what is. So, can we change the world? Or simply adjust our perception?

The only person that you can control in this world if you. If you adjust your thought, then you adjust your entire life. We can't make the world anything. We only get to make ourselves who we want to be.

we can change the world, but only in a small scale. You can start recycling, or for a bigger scale, you can start an organization for helping people. The world may be just fine as it is for some people, but others have seen famine, war, and injustice. Those who have might think of the world as a harsher place. I don't believe you can change the way things are at a world-wide level, but you can do small acts of kindness to help yourself and all those around you. Of course, this is only my opinion.

Of course we can change the world and create a huge impact or "splash" into society, however I do not believe that our lives have to lead to anything extraordinary for us as individuals to feel fulfilled. It would be great to be remembered, but you have to weigh your priorities. Is it more important to make a big and positive change to society and the world it stands on, or is it more important to remain individually happy throughout the course of your life?

Of course, happiness is contagious, so perhaps being individually happy would make that splash. Individual happiness depends on your perception and how it is adjusted to the world you're looking at.

If you chnage one thing it will change for good or bad. Matters how you look at it. If you decided to work at a soup kitchen for one day for free you could change something. You could see one person and make their day. They than are happy and return a favor. Creating a cycle of good events. It might not change the world as a whole, but will chnage someones world. Then if people keep changing that, soon enough everyone will be effected

Yeah but only by a piece of if because somewhere else someone else is trying to make the world a better place in their perception so basically yes and no.

I think that they go hand in hand to be honest...

I think that by adjusting your perception the 'butterfly effect' of your future actions will change the world in a massive way.

Do you really think the world is fine as it is...that's contentment man, but surely there is an element of ignorance in that perception, no?

If dissatisfaction is caused by people being out of alignment, can you make the world a better place by bringing those people into alignment?

I think every little thing we do changes the world in some way. Each good deed touches anothers heart and makes them strive to do the same sometimes.

Sometimes even the smallest things can make a difference, one little act of kindness can have a domino effect, one life touches another.

A little good done from the heart can go along way.

It depends on you. If you want to change you can or if you want to align you can do that. But people who try to change the world are doing that in their own way.

Ask the starving people in North Korea if everything is fine and if they wouldn't do better with a sane leader.
