I would say yes, it sounds like someone has been voting on questions in a category that has questions which are two years old, that is how your answer was picked as the best answer. I do a lot of voting and in some categories the questions are three years old!

Questions can stay in voting for years. There are groups of YA users who team to clean categories of these old in voting questions. They just ran across one and voted you best answer.
