How Long Will It Take To Lose 40lbs?
I'm currently 5'6" and about 185lbs, and would ideally like to get down to 145lbs. I've recently started running, but as I'm not very fit, I'm only able to do about 20/25 minutes of run/walking sessions, every day (still wears me out though!) I was wondering how long it would take for me to lose this, carrying on as I am?

Meg, we're the same height... Anyhow. It won't happen overnight. I'd say if you're really devoted by December you'll be at your goal weight. Running is a good start, also eat healthy. Try to stay away from sweets and sodas! You can do it!
I'm actually 169. I went to a health fitness guy and he said my normal weight is 145 also. But I know there is NO way I can get there because I have a lot of muscle. I lift weights and workout. So I'm fine with my size. I may try to tone up a little bit. But I'll start that Monday! To bad we couldn't be workout buddies!

You can do more than 20/25 minute sessions if you're walking in there... you just have to push yourself. People that are fit don't have it easy, either, they still have to try really hard and push themselves further than they think they can go.
I can run well, but running isn't my favorite way to do cardio. Some other alternatives I have used are: jiu jitsu/fighting, ergs (rowing), and I have actually found the Insanity workout to be awesome. You could drop those 40 lbs in the 2 months of the Insanity program if you really tried and gave 100% to every workout.

Awhile, loosing weight isn't lost just by working out. Alot of it is done in the kitchen or by eating the right foods and staying on a good food plan. A healthy weight lose per week is about 2-3 lbs.

IT ISNT DIFFICULT,,BUT IT ISNT EASY EITHER...IT TAKES YOUR STICKING TO A PLAN..AND NOT DEVIATING FROM IT.
okay, to get into shape , speed up your metabolism, rid yourself of excess fat and lose weight ,,,,,do as follows:
Stop drinking & smoking (if you do this regularly)
eat fruits & vegetables all you can (buy a food/rice steamer to make it easy on you)...(vegetables might not seem "tasty", like junk foods,, but can be as you aquire your taste to them..and are loaded with energy and nutrients)...avoid all junk food, cokes, sweets, etc...and drink water . If you eat meat ,,use only steamed, baking or grilled methods for preparing fish or chicken.
also, do an hour of walking each day at least. or some type of excercise.
* you should lose about 10 lbs per month

if you eat alot of vegetables and lean meats plus fruit and yogurt or low fat milk combined with sundry nuts and water. also, lower carbohydrate amounts and push exercise to 45 minutes with short rest times of a minute to 5 minutes. you could lose 1 to 2 pounds a hour if exercise is intense enough. Responsibly, half pound to 3 pounds every 8 hours of sleep and daily routine.

Brightly coloured turmeric not solely makes your curries taste fab, nevertheless it contains curcumin, an active ingredient that in time breaks down high-protein dishes, burns fat as well as holds back the growth of new fat tissue.
