Putting variety into my fish's diet.?
I have a black ghost knife fish. Right now, the only thing he eats is the beef heart I feed him by hand daily, and little scraps here and there.
I know that every fish's diet should be varied, but I am not sure what else I can feed him. It has to be something that I can feed by hand, because his two angelfish tank mates are fatties (I even have to push them away with my hand or they try to steal the food right out of it! One even plucked a piece of food out of my knife's mouth once)
He is starting to get big enough where he can probably be fed live, nothing too big though (he's only about 7 inches long, maybe 8, he wiggles around too much). What would be a good fish to start feeding him live with? Since I'm going to only be doing it once a week or so, it doesn't really matter how expensive (I actually almost bought a neon tetra to feed him the other day). However, can live fish be hand fed to other fish? Because he is a lazy bum and won't eat anything unless it's right infront of his face (and I don't think even neons are stupid enough to stay infront of him for too long).
What else could I hand feed him?

Most of the time I only live feed feeder Guppies or fathead/rosy Minnows, which I've fed both to my Oscars, Angelfish, and Goldfish. I've never fed but have seen other people feed baby Common Goldfish to Knifes, only I would make sure they come from a clean store because they are mass produced and are fraught with disease.
The thing you have to worry about is what the live fish may be carrying, so never feed dying or sick fish to your Kinfe. Learned this the hard way with an Oscar over a dying Minnow..
Besides fish, have you tried any types of bugs or shrimp? Ghost shrimp and Cherry shrimp are loved by many fish, esp. Angelfish. Here's a list of what I've fed my fish (bugs): Mosquito larvae (harvested by myself, never from the wild), Earthworms, baby Dragonfly's, adult and baby Crickets (both grey and brown), Grasshoppers, Brine Shrimp, and anything else you can catch. You really can go outside and bring in bugs to feed your fish. Most people do, and my fish love it. You can also try Daphina (water fleas), live Bloodworms, Midges, Fruit fly larvae and a number of other bugs.
