Diablo 2 - Windows 7 compatibility issue question?

"Right-click your Game.exe file and in the compatibility view, make certain you are running the game under Windows XP SP2/3 mode, and DISABLE DESKTOP COMPOSITION. This should allow your game to start normally, but you will probably have serious lag spike issues that need to be resolved."

Where do I find the game.exe? In the compatibility view? Where is that? You do this after you install the game, right? Or not? I haven't looked for it yet 'coz I don't know where to start, and I would appreciate a helping hand.

Enlighten me as well in the DISABLE DESKTOP COMPOSITION advice. I just want to play D2 in my W7, so please. :)

The first thing to try is to set it to run in compatibility mode (probably for Windows XP) and disable desktop composition. This might fix at least the color problem. Making a DEP exception for the game could conceivably help as well.
