Best way to record lectures?

Hi :)

I'm due to start Uni again in October, and I'd like to find a way to record my lectures. The lectures are not already recorded and made available to us so I need to find something to record them myself. All the lecturers I have next year have said that they are happy for the lectures to be recorded.

So far, I've tried to record lectures on my phone (a Samsung Wave) but the quality was not as good as I'd like. I usually sit around the middle of a fairly large lecture theatre and we are not allowed to leave our recording devices at the front of the class. Hence, I need something that can clearly record from a distance and cancel out a bit of background noise.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions of audio recorders or anything that will do the job!

thanks :)

You should look into a digital recorder -- SONY or Olympus are two brands. The cost can be high, depending on how many lectures you want to record and store at one time.

The spoken be conscious is a overall performance, and as such is risk-free under copyright. The professor owns that copyright. If he supplies permission to checklist, then you definately can checklist. even though, he could additionally would desire to grant you with exhibit permission to replica and sell those recordings. it rather is a mechanical license. even although many permit you checklist their lectures on your guy or woman very own training, I doubt any permit you reproduction and redistribute devoid of a minimum of receiving a license fee. in case you gain this devoid of permission, you will possibly be sued.
